We gathered together some of our books with tragic endings- a mix of fiction and some non-fiction for this display. It was a little tricky with the non-fiction because we did not want to make light of some of the tragedies that have happened with the faces that our students are making in the midst of the display. We have the Titanic and a book about extinction as well as lots of fiction.
We asked students (mostly our acting students) to be a part of the display by having their photo taken as if they knew something bad was going to happen.
I printed out their photos in color US letter paper , glued them to card stock and then cut them out. I taped a triangle of cardboard to the back so they would stand up. I have announced to students that if they want their face added to the display that I would be happy to add their photo.
